Virtual public hearing on Google data center’s latest wetlands request set for Tuesday night
The Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) is holding a virtual public hearing regarding Hatchworks LLC's request to fill 2.13 acres of wetlands for Phase 3 of Google's data center expansion in Fort Wayne. Fort Wayne City Councilman Geoff Paddock has urged IDEM to apply the strictest environmental standards, citing constituent concerns and Google's past failure to disclose wetland impacts during rezoning. This follows previous approvals for wetland filling and the addition of numerous diesel generators.
