AI data center with a different mission being considered in Tri-Cities

The Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL), a Department of Energy lab in Richland, Washington, is considering a new AI data center for national science missions, with an initial 2MW power requirement potentially expanding to 40MW. This is one of at least four data center projects proposed or being considered in the Tri-Cities area, including plans by Amazon, Atlas Agro, and Trammell Crow Company. PNNL is exploring sustainable energy options and heat reuse for the facility.
