West Virginia data center lands reported $45 billion AI investment, Morrisey says
West Virginia's N-Scale data center campus in Mason County has reportedly secured a $45 billion artificial intelligence computing agreement with Anthropic. This massive investment, spanning six years, will provide 460 megawatts of computing capacity and has been lauded by Governor Patrick Morrisey. The project, approved in 2023, operates under a state-certified micro-grid framework, with tax revenue partly dedicated to eliminating state income tax and supporting local communities.
