Greenidge shifts to data center, new name
Greenidge Generation Holdings has rebranded as Vulcan Infrastructure and Power and is shifting its Dresden, New York operations from crypto-mining to an AI data center. The company secured a $39.4 million investment and plans to increase its power draw from the state grid, a move that continues to face opposition from environmental groups like Seneca Lake Guardian. Vulcan states it will continue to provide critical power to the local grid and adhere to its emissions reduction agreement with New York State.
