Wheeling Council approves MOU for Silicon Foundry data center, bars high-impact status

Wheeling City Council approved a Memorandum of Understanding with Silicon Foundry LLC for its data center project on Warwood Avenue. The MOU prevents the data center from becoming a "high-impact" facility by capping its power use at 90 megawatts, while also allowing the city to create a TIF district. Despite the approval, many residents continue to voice concerns about noise and other environmental impacts.
