Public comment period for proposed data center in Richland County

The Montana Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) has opened a public comment period until June 15 for a proposed data center in Richland County. NYDIG DFM LLC, identified as a bitcoin-mining firm, is seeking an air quality permit to operate eight 2,500 brake-horsepower engines for the data center. The DEQ has indicated its intention to award the permit.
