City council to introduce data center text amendment
The Frederick City Council is set to introduce a proposed text amendment on January 15th that would allow data centers in the city. This proposal was submitted on December 11th by land use attorney Bruce Dean on behalf of Traml Crowe for potential data center development on about 231 acres near the Monocacy River at two sites. An earlier attempt to develop data centers in Frederick was tangled in ethics concerns involving the former City Council President's job as an energy lobbyist, but that proposal was ultimately withdrawn.
