Developer behind proposed solar farm in Zeeland, Jamestown Twps, moves forward with state application

Developer RWE has submitted a state application for its proposed 200-megawatt Silver Maple Solar farm in Zeeland and Jamestown townships, Michigan, which is currently under review by the Michigan Public Service Commission. The project faces significant local opposition due to environmental concerns and the loss of agricultural land, with a pre-hearing scheduled for June 4. Notably, Zeeland Township previously enacted a data center moratorium.
