TVA, Plus Power announce 20-year energy storage agreement in Jackson County

The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) and Plus Power have signed a 20-year agreement to develop a 200-megawatt battery energy storage project in Jackson County, Alabama. This Crawfish Creek Energy Storage project aims to enhance grid reliability and support economic growth, including the development of data centers, across North Alabama. Construction is expected to start in 2028, with commercial operations by summer 2029.
