New study reveals risks, benefits of data center construction in Ohio

A new Scioto Analysis study estimates that data center growth in Ohio could add $16 billion in electricity costs over the next seven years. The study says data centers generating more of their own power could reduce grid-related costs, while emissions from electricity generation could create significant public health impacts.
