Effingham County considers strict data center limits
Effingham County, Georgia, is considering stringent new regulations for data centers, including reclassifying them as conditional uses and banning on-site fossil fuel power generation. This follows public opposition, including a protest by Humans First, which led to the postponement of a vote on Octans GA's Project Camellia site plan. The county is also scheduled to discuss a formal moratorium on new industrial and data center projects.
