Bristow residents urge feds to deny wetland permit for controversial data centers

Residents in Bristow, Virginia are urging the Army Corps of Engineers to deny a federal wetland permit for a 10-building data center complex being planned by developer LHR Gainesville LLC, a subsidiary of JK Land Holdings. The data center would disturb over 4 acres of forested wetlands and nearly 3/4 mile of streams, which feed into the Occoquan River and Reservoir, a crucial drinking water source. Residents and environmental advocates argue the project would be an "ecological disaster" and are opposing the development plans.
