Midtown Data Center Site Faces $2.4M Tax Sale

A proposed multi-billion dollar data center in Midtown St. Louis, the Armory Innovation Data Center, faces an Oct. 6 land-tax sale due to over $2.4 million in unpaid taxes, which could halt its permitting process. The project, already approved for a conditional-use permit with numerous requirements, is also facing legal challenges from its developer against the city and lawsuits from environmental groups and residents. The city has recently enacted a new ordinance establishing citywide zoning and operating standards for data centers, influenced by this project.
