St. Charles Parish Pulls Vote on Luling Rezoning as Data Center Fears Swirl

St. Charles Parish officials withdrew a vote on rezoning nearly 1,000 acres of Luling farmland after questions arose about whether the proposal had been properly advertised. Residents fear the industrial rezoning could eventually enable a data center or other heavy industrial use, although parish officials and Esperanza Land LLC say no data center proposal or prospective tenant exists.
