Developer makes case for Hachita data center plan

Granite Renewables identified itself as the developer behind a proposed data center at the Hurt Cattle Ranch near Hachita and presented the project’s early feasibility plans to the Grant County Commission. The project could include up to 714 megawatts of solar generation and battery storage, while residents raised concerns about emissions, water use, noise, transparency and grid impacts; commissioners are considering a one-year moratorium.
