Company eyes ‘large load’ data center in Sacramento that could be region’s biggest

Link Logistics, a subsidiary of Blackstone Inc., is proposing a "large load" data center exceeding 50 megawatts in southeastern Sacramento. The project is being developed in talks with the Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) for grid improvements, but faces potential hurdles as a city councilmember has stated opposition, claiming data centers are not allowed in the city. The project seeks federal funding to support grid upgrades and aims to be operational by 2029.
