NAEC joins other Utilities across U.S. pledging new data centers not to increase costs
North Arkansas Electric Cooperative (NAEC) joined utilities nationwide in signing a pledge to ensure new data centers cover all their energy and infrastructure costs, preventing an increase in electricity bills for consumers. Initiated by former President Donald Trump, the Ratepayer Protection Pledge calls on cloud and AI companies to fully finance their data center energy needs. NAEC, which currently has no data centers in its service territory, emphasizes that any future developers must bear upfront costs to protect its members' electric bills and system reliability.
