Hempfield updates zoning confining data centers to industrial zones

Hempfield Township has updated its zoning ordinance to restrict data centers exclusively to industrial zones. This proactive measure was taken by the supervisors to prepare for potential development, even though no data center proposals have been received by the township. Other municipalities in Pennsylvania are currently addressing proposed or ongoing data center projects.
