Fairfax, Iowa, residents are raising serious concerns about increased traffic and speeding attributed to construction crews working on nearby data centers. Cari Conner, a local resident, described daily instances of dangerous driving, including a near-miss involving her children, and stated she would consider selling her home due to the issue. Radar data supports these claims, showing vehicles clocked at speeds up to 95 mph on neighborhood streets, including 65 mph in a 25 mph zone on Linn Street where Conner resides.

During a recent city council meeting, a large number of residents called for immediate action. In response, city leaders voted to establish a new traffic and safety committee. Additionally, the council plans to request a state traffic study to identify and implement solutions to the escalating traffic problems before a special Council meeting scheduled for later this month.
