Another data center potentially coming to the Valley
A new data center project is being planned for an area just south of downtown Phoenix, near 7th Avenue and Grant Street. Investment firm GI Partners acquired the land, which sits next to an APS substation. The former property owner, LKY Development, reportedly worked with APS for years to expand the substation to support a data center.
A new data center project is reportedly planned for an area south of downtown Phoenix, specifically near 7th Avenue and Grant Street, close to the former Paul Lawrence Dunbar School site.
The land for the proposed data center was acquired for nearly $15 million by investment firm GI Partners. The property is conveniently located adjacent to an APS (Arizona Public Service) substation. According to information from the Phoenix Business Journal, the previous owner of the property, LKY Development, had collaborated with APS for several years to facilitate the expansion of this substation, specifically to ensure it could adequately support a data center operation.
