Data centers, the physical infrastructure behind "the cloud" and modern digital life, are increasingly being constructed near residential areas across Virginia and the rest of the United States. While supporters highlight economic benefits such as construction jobs, substantial tax revenue for local governments, and attracting technology investment without heavy traffic or manufacturing, residents frequently express concerns.
