Bureau of Land Management Seeks Further Review for Boulder City Data Center Project
The Bureau of Land Management has filed a motion to conduct additional review for the proposed Townsite Solar Data Center near Boulder City, Nevada. While the developer, Townsite Solar 2 LLC, supports the motion, Boulder City opposes it, citing a lack of commitment from the BLM to an environmental assessment or cooperation with local officials and residents.
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) recently filed a motion on September 21 requesting additional review of the proposed Townsite Solar Data Center, slated for development on federal land adjacent to Boulder City, Nevada.
The developer, Townsite Solar 2 LLC, has voiced support for the BLM's motion. However, environmental groups the Center for Biological Diversity and the Sierra Club remain neutral on the matter. Boulder City, through its representatives, expressed opposition to the motion, arguing that it does not guarantee a comprehensive environmental assessment nor does it ensure the BLM's cooperation with local city officials and area residents.
