Stephen Maakestad, vice president of civil engineering for the development firm, appeared before the board to explain Mericle’s waiver request regarding a financial security bond for the project known as 280/400 Crestwood Dr., LLC. The preliminary/final development plan currently is before the township’s planning commission. Maakestad told supervisors the project will include three “spec buildings.” He described the buildings as “flex industrial” and the developer currently does not have tenants. He said he expects the buildings will be used for light manufacturing or warehousing. Sizes of the structures, he explained, will be 232,000 square feet, 169,000 square feet and 130,000 square feet. Asked by supervisor Paul Krzywicki, the engineer said the firm does not plan any further tree-clearing on the property. He pointed out the property already contains all needed utilities — electric power, water and sewage. The Mericle representative told supervisors the firm hopes to begin construction in August with completion taking 12 to 15 months. Supervisors tabled the financial security waiver request to obtain more information. After the meeting, asked about speculation that the site will be used for a data center, Maakestad said Mericle does not have plans for a data center on the property. Supervisor also tabled a request from the Crestwood Junior Comets football team to temporarily operate a snack stand at multi-purpose field in the township park. They did approve a request from Mountain Top on the Move for use of South Main Road for its annual July 4 parade. There will be some changes to hours at the Wright Twp. recycling center. Starting next month, the center no longer will be open to businesses to deposit their recycling on Wednesdays, Instead, starting May 3, businesses holding recycling permits can bring recyclable materials to the center between 7 and 9 a.m. on Saturdays only. Fairview Twp. park cleanup will be held April 25 from 10 a.m. to noon at Fairview Memorial Park, Memorial Park Road. Volunteers are needed. Participants are encouraged to bring rakes and shovels. The township will provide gloves, vests and trash bags. Wright Twp.’s annual spring cleanup will be held the week of May 4–9. This event is for residents’ personal items and not for contractors or business items. Township employees will pick up large items at residences for a fee on Monday, May 4 and Tuesday, May 5. All items must be paid for in advance. Call or visit the supervisors office Monday–Friday, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. to arrange for pickup. Deadline to arrange for pickup is Friday, May 1, at noon. All items must be at the roadside by 8 a.m. on Sunday, May 3. Residents can bring items to the dumpsters at the rear of the municipal building on May 6, 8 or 9. There is no drop off on Thursday May 7 due to local government day for local elementary schools. Permits can be purchased from the supervisors office during business hours or on-site. Cash or checks only and exact change required. Items will not be accepted without permits. Hours of drop off are Wednesday, May 6, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Friday, May 8, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, May 9, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Closed for lunch daily from noon to 12:30 p.m. Construction materials, paint cans, automotive parts, propane tanks, or hazardous materials will not be accepted.
