Titus Development Company and Go Energy Group have announced plans to convert the former Titus Generating Station in Cumru Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania, into a 200-megawatt AI data center campus called TRON USA AI Campus. The project leverages existing industrial infrastructure, including electricity, fiber, and water access. Cumru Township recently passed a data center ordinance to regulate development in the area, establishing an overlay district around the property.

Titus Development Company, the owner of the former Titus Generating Station in Cumru Township, Pennsylvania, has partnered with Houston-based Go Energy Group to develop the TRON USA AI Campus. The plan involves transforming the 196-acre former coal-fired power plant on Poplar Neck Road into a large-scale artificial intelligence and digital infrastructure campus.
The initial phase of the project is slated to include a 200-megawatt AI data center. The developers highlighted the site's strategic advantages, including industrial zoning, existing electrical infrastructure, regional transmission access, fiber connectivity, and water availability for cooling, which they believe positions Berks County as a future hub for digital infrastructure.
Cumru Township has been proactive in preparing for such developments, recently becoming the first municipality in Berks County to pass a data center ordinance. This regulation establishes a data center overlay district specifically around the former Titus Station property, limiting future data center development to this area. Township Commissioner Greg Miller noted that the ordinance aims to protect the community, and officials are awaiting the submission of detailed plans from the developers. Joseph D'Ascenzo, Chairman of Titus Development Company, emphasized the project's role in transforming legacy energy infrastructure into a modern economic engine.
