TECfusions, an AI infrastructure company, announced that its data center in New Kensington, Pennsylvania, is now operational, providing GPU capacity for advanced artificial intelligence and high-performance computing workloads. The company, in partnership with Apex Treasury Corp, stated that their development approach aligns with the principles established in Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro's Responsible Infrastructure Development (GRID) executive order.

The executive order sets forth standards for data center projects, focusing on energy affordability, transparent community engagement, workforce and economic development, and environmental protection. It also mandates that large data center developers obtain a permitting pathway to make legally enforceable commitments, including covering the costs of new power infrastructure, preventing these expenses from being passed on to other ratepayers. TECfusions founder Simon Tusha noted that the New Kensington site, an adaptive-reuse development located nearly 30 miles northeast of Pittsburgh, embodies this philosophy. Currently powered by turbines, the site plans for future dual utility and on-site microgrid generation, aiming to scale up to 3 gigawatts of total capacity. TECfusions CEO Denis Minihane emphasized that the facility is designed to address the market's growing constraint of power-ready capacity through high-density, AI-ready infrastructure and a strategic on-site power approach.
