Country singer Brad Paisley has publicly urged his fans to help stop a proposed data center slated for construction near the Nashville Zoo. In a social media post and joint petition with the zoo, Paisley labeled the project a "nightmare scenario," citing concerns about its potential visual impact, the strain on local utilities, and negative ramifications for the zoo and the city of Nashville.

The petition, which calls for halting construction, has garnered nearly 313,000 signatures as of June 8. Nashville Zoo CEO Rick Schwartz also expressed strong opposition in an interview with News Channel 5, highlighting risks to the zoo's 3,000 animals from potential light, noise, and pollution. Both Paisley and Schwartz emphasized that the project is not suitable for the location and called for a more appropriate site.

DC BLOX, identified as the developer, responded to the concerns raised by the zoo and the community. The company pledged to implement "closed-loop or waterless cooling designs" to reduce water usage, and committed to "test and manage noise" and "shield light fixtures" to mitigate environmental impacts. DC Blox also stated its intention to continue discussions with local leaders regarding the project.
