Google has officially confirmed its involvement in Project Clydesdale, a substantial 506-acre data center campus currently under construction in unincorporated Tulsa County, Oklahoma, situated west of Owasso. The tech giant, which has invested $1.5 billion in Oklahoma since 2011, announced plans for this campus to integrate into its global data center network. The project, for which Beal Infrastructure broke ground in October 2025, will include a new on-site substation and water infrastructure upgrades, alongside a commitment to train over 160 apprentices in Oklahoma by 2030.

The development, however, has encountered significant community opposition. Residents raised concerns regarding the data center's potential impact on local resources, specifically water and power, and criticized the alleged lack of genuine community engagement during the rezoning process. Despite these objections and criticisms over transparency, Tulsa County ultimately approved the project. Google maintains that the project will generate economic opportunities for local businesses, schools, and workers throughout the Green Country region.
