New Kent strikes down proposed moratorium on data centers

The New Kent County Board of Supervisors has rejected a proposed two-year moratorium that would have prevented the construction of any new data centers within the county. The board voted 3-2 against the measure, with supervisors Amy Pearson, Thomas Evelyn, and John Moyer casting votes in opposition.

Supervisors Jordan Stewart and Ronald Stiers voted in favor of the proposed ban. This decision means that data center development can continue without a temporary halt in New Kent County.
