Data center power developer acquires options to buy land south of Hershey
A data center power developer, Limitless North Platte LLC, has acquired year-long options to purchase 1,280 acres of pastureland in Lincoln County, Nebraska, south of Hershey. This land is intended for significant electrical infrastructure to support large data centers. The acquisition is part of a growing trend of data center-related land options in the region, with another developer, Arevia Power, also acquiring land options near Lincoln.
Limitless North Platte, LLC, an entity of Limitless Energy Group, has secured one-year options to acquire 1,280 acres of pastureland in Lincoln County, Nebraska, situated approximately eight miles south of Hershey. The options, recorded at the Lincoln County Courthouse on September 21, cover adjoining Sections 6 and 7 in Township 12 North, Range 32 West.
Brian Hawkins, the chief revenue officer of Limitless Energy Group, signed the options. Limitless Energy Group's website states its primary focus is providing "significant, reliable electrical loads" for large data centers and crypto mining operations. Since 2022, Hawkins has been instrumental in developing power infrastructure projects ranging from 20 MW to 300 MW, and is currently managing a development pipeline exceeding 5,000 MW, including five power projects in Texas.
This land acquisition aligns with a broader trend of data center development in Nebraska. Nebraska Public Media News reported on September 25 that Arevia Power, a Nevada-based solar and data center developer, has optioned over 560 acres on the edge of northwest Lincoln. This follows other data center developments in Lancaster County, such as the Monolith and Stark Power data centers near Hallam and a Google data center near I-80 and N. 56th St. Arevia Power is also pursuing a massive 3,700-acre data center project outside Boise, Idaho.
