Allentown, PA – A significant crowd gathered at the Allentown City Council Chambers on Thursday night for a special meeting of the Planning Commission. The commission convened to review a controversial proposal to transform a warehouse on West Emmaus Avenue into a substantial 247,000-square-foot data center.

The meeting was arranged to facilitate public attendance and engagement. Commissioners heard directly from the project's applicant, engaging in a question-and-answer session before opening the floor for public comment. The public expressed concerns, with one speaker stating, "This is dragging us down. Like in so many different ways."

Following the presentations and public input, the Planning Commission began deliberations on the changes they would require for the project to potentially move forward.
