Faith leaders, community to meet with Pittsburg city manager about data center Wednesday
Pittsburg residents and faith leaders plan to meet with City Manager Darin Gale to question the recently approved AVAIO Digital data center. Community members are raising concerns about environmental and respiratory health impacts and the lack of public input in the approval process.
Faith leaders and Pittsburg residents are scheduled to meet with City Manager Darin Gale at St. Peter Martyr Church to discuss the recently approved AVAIO Digital data center. The meeting will follow a prepared agenda and be conducted in Spanish with English interpretation, with a Zoom option available.
Organizers with Faith in Action East Bay say residents were not given sufficient input before the city approved the project. They plan to ask why the decision was made and how the facility could affect Pittsburg’s existing environmental and respiratory health problems, citing research and presentations from Stanford experts.
