The facility is planned less than 200 yards from homes on Silfer Street, with resident Dilshan Gamaralalage expressing concerns that its presence "is going to destroy everything" when speaking from his porch.
This local pushback was evident at a recent Gregg Township meeting, attended by 109 people, according to Lisa Hollenbach. The community's resistance, marked by attendees wearing red shirts, echoes the "Say No!" movement in nearby Montour County, where activists previously opposed Talen Energy's development near Montour Preserve.
