The event was organized by the group "Stop Olyphant Data Centers," which is concerned about the "TriBoro data centers" planned to span portions of Olyphant, Archbald, and Jessup.
The community members expressed significant frustration and anger, claiming that local bureau officials have not provided sufficient information about the project and are not listening to public concerns. Emily Vanfleet, a resident, shared her personal distress over the clear-cutting already occurring for the project, noting her young children's questions about trees being removed. Opponents also raised serious environmental concerns, including land destruction, and potential impacts on electricity and water resources, citing fears of "electrical rations, water rations, have cancer spikes" seen in other towns.
With no firm decision yet made on the data centers, residents affirmed their commitment to continued organizing and speaking out.
