Lyndon Township’s Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on proposed zoning amendments for data centers, high-resource-demand operations and power-generation facilities. The rules would allow accessory data centers in some districts as permitted or special land uses, while requiring special approval for larger or non-accessory facilities. The township remains under a 12-month data center moratorium that began May 27 and bars permits and approvals until May 27, 2027, or until permanent regulations take effect.

Elsewhere in Livingston County, Genoa Township has extended its moratorium while conducting sound testing and drafting rules on power and water consumption, and Howell Township has extended its moratorium to allow more time for an ordinance. Tyrone Township is considering a 60-megawatt threshold, special-use approvals and ongoing compliance reporting, while Brighton Township adopted a six-month moratorium and is studying potential limits on noise, water use and energy.
