Data Center land sold in December for $51 million

A significant land sale took place in Grundy County, Illinois, involving over 350 acres located near Route 6 and Gun Club Road. CP Morris Land, LLC completed the sale of this property to ILLCO Grundy County, LLC for $51 million on December 19th. Morris Mayor Chris Brown confirmed that the acquired land is slated for a new data center development. The project is being spearheaded by Tract, a Colorado-based company specializing in establishing and preparing data center sites for various users. Mayor Brown outlined the subsequent steps for the data center project, indicating it will undergo review by the city's Development Review Committee (DRC) as well as the building and zoning departments. The process will also involve a comprehensive permitting procedure, with public hearings anticipated to facilitate broader community discussion.
