Foxboro voters to weigh Neponset Avenue rezoning, data center ban
Foxboro voters will decide Monday whether to rezone the Neponset Avenue area, including the former Schneider Electric site, for housing and other uses. They will also consider a separate proposal to ban data centers in the town.
Foxboro voters are scheduled to consider a revised Neponset Avenue rezoning plan at a special town meeting Monday. The proposal would permit about 130 single-family homes, many with age restrictions, along with commercial, assisted-living, recreational and open-space uses at and around the former Schneider Electric property.
The meeting warrant also includes a separate measure that would ban data centers in Foxboro. The votes are scheduled for 7 p.m. at Foxboro High School, with the rezoning plan reduced from an earlier proposal for 173 homes.
