Holyoke seeks resident members for data center impact committee
The Holyoke City Council is seeking community representatives to join a temporary committee studying the infrastructure, energy, economic, health and environmental impacts of current and future data centers. The committee was formed shortly after the city approved a temporary ban on data center development.
Holyoke’s City Council is recruiting residents and community representatives to serve on a temporary Data Center Study Committee. The panel will examine how existing and proposed commercial data centers could affect the city, including energy consumption, infrastructure, economic development, health and environmental conditions.
The committee’s creation follows the City Council’s approval of a temporary ban on data center development several months earlier. The city is seeking public participation as it evaluates the potential impacts of current and future facilities.
