Stafford residents oppose massive data centers proposed near Rappahannock River
Stafford County residents are opposing a proposed large data center project near their homes along the Rappahannock River. They cite concerns about constant noise, declining property values, industrial development and a nearby electrical substation.
Residents in Stafford County, Virginia, are voicing opposition to a proposed data center development on a farm near homes along the Rappahannock River. The project would place large industrial facilities and an electrical substation close to the neighborhood, which residents say conflicts with the area’s riverfront character.
Residents told WJLA that they are concerned about the constant humming associated with data centers, potential effects on home values and changes to their way of life. They emphasized that they chose the community because of its proximity to the protected Rappahannock River and do not want a major data center development next to their homes.
