700-acre data center construction begins in Middlesex Township

A major step forward was approved Wednesday night for a massive data center project in Cumberland County, clearing the way for construction to potentially resume as early as Thursday. The Middlesex Township Board of Supervisors voted unanimously to approve the construction of an energy substation on part of a 700-acre property along Country Club Road that is being developed into a data center campus valued at roughly $15 billion.
