The demonstration, held near the Montour County Veterans Memorial and along Mill Street despite steady rain, featured protesters chanting slogans like “No data centers in our small town” and “PA is not for sale,” ringing cowbells, and holding signs to draw attention to their cause. The event was organized by Concerned Citizens of Montour County, which started with five local residents and has grown into a coalition connecting communities statewide.
Organizer Sam Burleigh emphasized the group's goal to educate the public about the proposed projects, particularly those planned for Pennsylvania's Coal Region.
