Lincoln County officials are moving forward with highly anticipated data center regulations. During a recent Commissioners meeting, planning and legal representatives outlined timelines and cooperative agreements. The Lincoln County Planning Commission will host a public hearing on August 11 at North Platte City Hall to review proposed data center regulations, conditional use rules, and a data center matrix, as confirmed by Lincoln County planning and zoning administrator Judy Clark.
The County Commissioners are aiming for a final public hearing on these data center zoning laws on August 31. Separately, the commissioners discussed a request from Keith County to collaborate on a regional pest control program, which Keith County plans to model after Lincoln and Sheridan counties' existing setups. Lincoln County Chairman Kent Weems noted Keith County's inquiry about an interlocal agreement. No official action was taken on the pest control proposal, pending refinement of terms by county attorney offices.
