Supervisors Receive Petition Seeking Moratorium on Data Centers

Despite the fact that the Supervisors have not yet received any specific proposals for data center developments, they formally accepted the petition. They have committed to engaging in a formal discussion regarding the potential applications and the various concerns outlined in the petition.
Supervisor Scott Longhorn indicated that he believes the existing zoning ordinances are sufficient to prevent any inappropriate rezoning requests from being approved. However, he also expressed a willingness to continue investigating the issues brought forth by the petition. Further discussions on the matter are expected to take place during regular board meetings held on Wednesday mornings at the Boone County Courthouse.
