Google and Constellation Energy announced a 20-year power purchase agreement covering 890 megawatts from Constellation-owned nuclear plants, along with a separate contract for 2,700 megawatts through the PJM Interconnection grid. The arrangements are intended to provide electricity for Google’s growing data center and artificial intelligence infrastructure.

Constellation said the agreement will support more than $4.3 billion in investment across its nuclear fleet. Eleven reactors in Illinois, Pennsylvania and New Jersey, including the Byron Generating Station in Illinois, are expected to undergo upgrades, with power from the first upgraded facility projected to come online in 2028. Google global head of energy and power Amanda Peterson Corio said the company is seeking reliable, lower-carbon electricity to support its growth.
