Residents in Indianapolis are concerned about potential electricity rate increases due to a pending sale of AES Corporation to an investor group, BlackRock, which has ties to data center developer Sabey Data Centers. Sabey is seeking approval for a large data center in Decatur Township, and residents fear BlackRock will leverage its ownership of AES Indiana to subsidize Sabey's infrastructure costs.
