A petition to stop a data center near the Nashville Zoo is now at more than 390,000 signatures and counting. This is after Georgia-based DC BLOX was granted a permit to build their new facility right next to the zoo with little known about the project until just recently. Neighbors and animal advocates have since called for an end to the project they say will ultimately impact everything surrounding the data center. Attorneys representing the zoo have now filed an appeal to overturn the permit, while DC BLOX says they’re hoping to work with the zoo and community leaders toward a compromise. They’ve agreed to use water sourced locally and recycle that same water over and over to cool their systems, while paying for their own power and keeping noise at a minimum. All things they believe will have little impact on the environment. What do you think?
