Wrightsville residents attended a town hall meeting to discuss two proposed data center projects that represent significant economic development opportunities for Arkansas. The projects, known collectively as the "Digital Campus," include a data center on 145th Street and a Google data center located near Sweet Home, west of Wrightsville.
During the meeting, community members posed questions to representatives from Entergy, Central Arkansas Water, and the Pulaski County Quorum Court. Residents voiced concerns about potential power demand, environmental impacts, increased traffic, and land use. Many attendees expressed dissatisfaction, feeling that their questions were not directly addressed.
Wrightsville Mayor Derek Raney acknowledged the community's mixed reactions and emphasized the city's commitment to engaging with residents. He stated that the city aims to address as many questions as possible by bringing in various partners involved with the projects. To facilitate ongoing dialogue, Wrightsville plans to form a Citizen Advisory Committee as project planning continues.
