Ric Urrutia, a researcher specializing in corporate and political power structures, is scheduled to give presentations in Sheboygan and Manitowoc, Wisconsin. The talks, slated for April 23 in Sheboygan and April 24 in Manitowoc, will explore the interlocking corporate and banking interests linking U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) with data center ownership. These presentations will delve into the potential local impacts of these connections on family farmers, workers, water resources, the environment, and community life. Urrutia, who has taught research methods for environmental justice campaigns, will also discuss how labor and community members are responding to these power structures. The events are co-sponsored by several organizations, including We Rise Fighting Labor Podcast, Progressive Lakeshore People, Wisconsin Bail Out the People Movement, Family Farm Defenders, and Veterans for Peace Sheboygan Chapter. Urrutia is also expected to participate in an anniversary celebration for the Wisconsin Bail Out the People Movement in Madison.
