Packed house attends data center meeting in Sarcoxie

Sarcoxie High School recently hosted a community information session to discuss Geronimo P's proposed data center project in Jasper County, Missouri. The event was organized by Missouri State Representative Anne Kelly in response to numerous constituent concerns, aiming to keep residents informed. Commissioner Jimmy Morris acknowledged the public's concerns but clarified that the county commission's ability to approve or deny such projects is limited, partly due to the absence of specific zoning laws in Jasper County that would prevent Geronimo P from building. State Senator Jill Carter also attended, emphasizing the importance of these fact-finding conversations to shape future legislative efforts and address community feedback. Concerned residents, like Reese Hine, praised the lawmakers for facilitating the discussion and being responsive to inquiries. Neither the lawmakers nor the high school officially stated a position for or against the project.
