Virginia's Data Center Alley becomes a warning in Florida governor candidate's campaign

Florida Democratic gubernatorial nominee David Jolly toured Northern Virginia’s massive data center corridor this month, visiting facilities in Loudoun County and seeing how closely some of them sit to nearby neighborhoods. Jolly has proposed a one-year moratorium on new large-scale data centers in Florida and, after the Virginia trip, said a broader ban should also be considered. Virginia has the country’s largest concentration of data centers, and their rapid growth has fueled fights over electricity demand, noise, and environmental impacts.
