Google has proactively informed the public that water vapor may be visible escaping from its data center in southeast Fort Wayne as more buildings become operational. The company issued an announcement on July 20 stating that this vapor is simply clean water evaporating from energy-efficient cooling towers, similar to processes at its The Dalles, Oregon, data center.
Google emphasized that this water vapor has no environmental impact, contains no chemicals, and causes no emissions from the facility. The company reiterated its commitment to water stewardship in communities where it operates data centers, including Fort Wayne, citing recently announced commitments to this effect.
